4 weeks from today = FIRST DAY at Instituto Vida Abundante…

Good morning!

It is an exciting time around Instituto Vida Abudante… in just 4 weeks, classes officially start at Instituto Vida Abundante.      We just spent a month in the US celebrating God’s hand in bringing IVA to fruition.   So many of you have played such a huge part in making this dream a reality.

And to you, we express our gratitude!

Today, we begin a daily 4-week prayer campaign.   You can sign up here to receive daily prayer points for the next 4 weeks.   Each day, we will be praying for 2 students, as well as teachers, missionaries and general items for the school.  After that, we hope to send something out on a regular basis to encourage serious prayer coverage for the school.

As we begin this endeavor, we would like to introduce you to our dear friend and prayer coordinator, Lisa Gould.   She is the heart and mind behind the School Prayer Team.   May God bless her time and talents as she uses them in this priceless way.  We love you, Lisa!

Married to Jeff for 31 years, two grown daughters and one beautiful granddaughter.  We attend Riverside Church of Christ in Coppell, TX, and have for over 18 years now.   Jeff serves as a deacon and Bible class teacher and I serve on the Missions committee and teach from time to time in the Ladies ministry.  We have supported missions in one way or another for most of our married life, but didn’t become actively involved in missions until about 9 years ago when we led our church in relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina.  Then in early 2011 I was invited to join the Come before Winter team in hosting a renewal for missionary women in Central America.  It was on that trip in Roatan, Honduras, that I felt God speaking into my heart that I needed to step up and stand in the gap for missionaries on the field.  It was also there that I met Jen who introduced me to “the REAL Honduras” later that year and life for us was forever changed!  Since Oct. of 2011 I’ve served on four renewal teams with Women of Purpose and one two-week mission team to Honduras.   Jeff joined me in going to Honduras at the end of 2012 and now our goal is to be able to go to Honduras 2-3 times a year to serve alongside missionaries already on the ground in both Puerta Lempira and Tegucigalpa.
